Seattle Design Center

Home to an eclectic group of high-end interior design showrooms, a popular event venue, and freshly remodeled office spaces, Seattle Design Center presented a unique variety of marketing challenges.

Previously unfamiliar with the Interior Design industry, I came to know my audience and create marketing materials for events supported by national Interior Design associations.

Role and Responsibilities

During my time with SDC, my role at the Design Center expanded to include:

  • Brand management

  • Industry and public event marketing, including print and digital advertising campaigns

  • Bi-monthly html email marketing newsletters and frequent event updates to attendees as needed

  • Social media content creation and account management

  • Video production and animation

  • Content creation and management of an LED monument sign on 1st Avenue South in Seattle

  • Wayfinding and promotional signage for the G2 Office Building

As a brand, the Design Center is creative, inspiring, modern, and surprising. I established brand guidelines for this identity and participated in the conceptualization and execution of Industry events, garnering the support of the diverse showrooms.

I created branding for monthly and quarterly events, including a Career Day event, “The Future of Design.” I applied my designs to posters, postcards, print ads, and social media content. The day of the event, I captured event photography on-site, also for social media coverage.

 Social Media Marketing

As Social Media Manager, I collected, created, and curated Seattle Design Center’s social media content and brand strategy.

Print and Email Marketing Campaigns

My ads for sales and events were printed in local publications, as well as being featured on location at Seattle Design Center and in html emails I coded and sent to thousands of SDC subscribers.

As an on-site staff member, I was able to meet the constantly-evolving needs of tenants and showrooms. Even construction notices were elevated and on-brand.

LED Monument

I planned and designed rotating imagery promoting showrooms, events, and general Design Center information, updated regularly for this prominent sign on 1st Ave S in Seattle.

Event Venue Advertising

By night, Seattle Design Center is a popular local event venue. I handled SDC Events branding, creating an updated logo and brand guidelines for public-facing documents, which I designed to advertise the space.

Corporate Office Environmental Design

The Georgetown Squared office complex is adjacent to the Seattle Design Center and was managed by the same company. I designed and placed way-finding signage, based on the G2 logo and informed by the real needs of users in the space.
